Apple Pie Ring

Ingredients

1 Apple

15 ml sugar

5 ml lemon juice

2 ml cinnamon

1 roll of puff pastry

1 egg for egg wash.

 

Method

1.     In a small bowl add diced apples. Pour in cinnamon and stir. Set aside.

2.     On medium heat, using a medium size pot melt your butter.

3.     Add brown sugar and stir till the sugar has dissolved.

4.     Add cinnamon and apples.

5.     Let the mixture simmer for 15 minutes or until apples are soft.

6.     Store in refrigerator for up to a week.

 

Apple Pie

1.     Cut puff pastry into two even halves and place next to each other to create a larger dough sheet.

2.     Use a large pot lid and use to cut the pastry into a circle.

3.     Use a dough cutter or smaller lid and press a smaller circle inside your large circle.

4.     Divide your smaller circle into 8ths.

5.     Place apple mixture around the edges of the large circle and fold the edges up.

6.     Take each smaller circle piece and fold over the apple to create small pockets.

7.     Paint with egg wash and bake at 200̊ C for 10-15 minutes until golden brown

8.     Serve with cream or ice-cream
