3 big onions, sliced in halfmoons
45 ml B-well Garlic flavoured canola oil
250 g butter
800 g Tenderized steak slices
250 ml Cake flour
15 ml Oryx Braai salt
5 ml Oryx desert salt
160 ml Brown stock
Pre-heat oven to 150°C
Fry onions on very low heat with B-well oil. Add butter and cook onions until almost soft
Remove onions from pan and keep aside. Add little more oil to the same pan
Dust steaks in cake flour and season with meat spice and Oryx Desert Salt.
Fry on high heat until golden brown.
Add half the onions to oven dish. Place meat on top, add rest of onions.
Deglaze meat pan with brown stock and pour liquid over onions.
Cover with foil and braise for 45-60 minutes or until meat is very soft.
Serve with Putu Pap or crusty bread.
