Garlic and lemon sauce for fish


For the sauce 

  • 125ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 60ml olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 15ml chopped fresh parsley

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 5 ml butter

For the Fish

  • Two hake fillets, skinned

  • 125ml flour

  • Butter for frying

  • Salt and pepper to taste



  • In a small pot, combine lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and parsley.

  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.

  • Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • While the sauce is simmering, pour flour, salt and pepper into a plate.

  • Lightly dust the fish in the flour mixture.

  • Fry the fish in a separate pan until soft and flakey. Remove the fish from the pan and plate.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Add butter and stir until melted and smooth.

  • Pour the lemons sauce over the cooked fish.
