Ingredients
500ml Good red wine - Like BoPlaas Ring of Rocks Family Reserve Wine
15ml Chopped onion
a sprig of thyme
1 Bay leaf
1ml Salt
250ml Beef Stock
10ml Red currant jelly / strawberry jelly (optional)
25ml Butter
Method
1. Pour wine into a saucepan and add all the ingredients, except the butter and jelly.
2. Boil down the wine to 250ml.
3. Add the stock and boil until sauce starts to thicken.
4. Remove from heat, strain and add butter and jelly.
5. Serve with grilled meats.
